Garage and upgrades
Your garage is Number Seven Motors, Pops’s shop. Ms. Ishida handles bays, keys and repairs. Your first bay is Bay 3.
Cars
- Every car is a fictional JDM-style model; there are no real makes.
- You can drive any car you own. Press V to get in or out.
- Cars are bought at the dealership or found in the world.
- Each car has a drivetrain (FWD, RWD or AWD) and a weight, both of which feed into how it launches.
Upgrading
Each car has one slot per part type, and each slot has a level from 0 to 50. Installing a part consumes one Usable part from your bag and raises that slot by a level.
- You can upgrade any car you own, not just the active one.
- Turbo and supercharger are mutually exclusive.
- Weight reduction removes 2 kg per level.
- Only seven stats matter: grip, suspension, brakes, torque, horsepower, aero and durability.
See the parts reference for all 15 part types.
The dyno
The dyno sheet in your bay shows your car’s predicted ET (elapsed time over 400 m) and the seconds the next install of each part would save, or why it’s blocked (maxed or exclusive). It runs the same simulation as a real drag run, so the dyno matches the strip.
